The network behind the search term
The name "Telegrass" dates a search, not a live operation. Its regional "kivunim" channels fed one central hub until the 12 March 2019 raid, when 42 senior operators were arrested after roughly eighteen months of covert investigation. The structure splintered rather than vanished, and only in 2023 did its operators post a closure notice.
What replaced it, on paper, is a public register: 420 authorised pharmacies across 120 localities, reachable only through a physician's request under procedure 106 and a matching licence from the Medical Cannabis Unit.

What does "Telegram Weed Group" mean?
A search phrase left over from the Telegrass network, raided in March 2019 and closed by its operators in 2023. It now loosely means finding cannabis in Israel through Telegram. The only lawful route is a medical cannabis licence.
Is cannabis legal in Israel?
With a licence, yes. Personal-use possession by an adult civilian has been an administrative offence carrying a fine, not a criminal one, since April 2022, with minors, soldiers and prisoners excluded from that regulation. Trade, supply and brokering are still treated as serious crimes regardless of payment.
Can tourists buy cannabis in Israel?
No. Licences are issued to Israeli patients through Israeli physicians. There is no lawful route for visitors.
